Hamza Aboelgasim, senior manager for growth at Abu Dhabi's Masdar City Free Zone, announced plans to open the zone's fourth China office in Beijing to deepen engagement with Chinese enterprises. According to Aboelgasim, the free zone currently welcomes six to seven Chinese companies establishing operations within the hub each month.

The announcement followed the Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference 2026, where Masdar City Free Zone evaluated applications from over 30 Chinese companies and conducted one-on-one meetings with six shortlisted firms. Aboelgasim noted that Chinese companies are increasingly setting up offices, building production facilities, and conducting research and development in Abu Dhabi.

Chinese robotics and AI enterprises are simultaneously adapting their commercial models to Middle Eastern requirements. Beijing Yunji Technology Co., Ltd., which modifies its service robots to navigate indoor carpeting common in Middle Eastern hotels, reported that its overseas revenue rose 92.1 percent year-on-year to 19.06 million yuan (approximately 2.84 million U.S. dollars) in 2025, with first-half 2026 overseas revenue expanding nearly sevenfold compared to the same period in 2025.

Official data cited by Xinhua shows that China's overall outward direct investment reached 213.58 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, representing an 11.1 percent increase year-on-year, with 58,000 Chinese enterprises established across 189 countries and regions by year-end.
