The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has strongly condemned an attack targeting the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Al Mayeda while transiting the Arabian Gulf, ARN News Centre reported.
In an official statement, the ministry stated that the vessel is owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company. MoFA affirmed that targeting the tanker constitutes a grave threat to the safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
The authority highlighted that the incident carries serious environmental repercussions and represents a dangerous escalation designed to undermine the stability and security of critical waterways.
The UAE expressed its solidarity with Qatar, stressing the necessity of adhering to international law to guarantee the safety and security of commercial ships, energy tankers, and maritime crews.
