The United Arab Emirates has established a revised three-tier salary threshold for foreign residents applying to sponsor entry and visit visas for relatives and friends, according to regulatory updates aligned with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).
Under the updated rules, residents hosting first-degree relatives must document a minimum monthly salary of AED 4,000. Sponsoring second- and third-degree family members, which include siblings, grandparents, and aunts or uncles, requires a minimum monthly income of AED 8,000.
The highest financial threshold applies to residents sponsoring friends, requiring a minimum monthly salary of AED 15,000. The tiered system is intended to confirm that sponsors possess verifiable financial resources to host visitors, with authorized visas permitting up to 120 days of total stay including extensions.
