Abu Dhabi's Future Health platform has unveiled a dedicated entrepreneurship programme to assist early-stage healthcare innovators in emerging markets across Africa and Asia, African Business reported. The initiative was launched during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit in collaboration with Bridge for Billions, a social enterprise that manages online incubation programmes.
The initiative will be deployed in two stages. In the initial phase, approximately 50 entrepreneurs whose healthcare innovations have progressed past the concept stage will be selected based on project maturity, scalability, market potential, and alignment with priority health sector needs.
Selected participants will complete an online incubation curriculum focusing on business model validation, investor readiness, regulatory compliance, and health system integration. A smaller group will subsequently proceed to an acceleration phase hosted in Abu Dhabi, where participants will engage directly with local regulators, healthcare operators, research institutions, and investors.
According to African Business, the initiative comes amid shifting global healthcare funding dynamics, with falling donor financing encouraging African and Asian innovators to seek private capital and sustainable business models. Programme eligibility rules and application timelines will be published at a later stage.
