Saudi petrochemical giant SABIC announced on October 26, 2026, that its multibillion-dollar petrochemical complex in Fujian, China, remains on track to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Speaking during the company's third-quarter earnings call, Chief Executive Officer Faisal Al-Faqeer confirmed that three plants designed to produce polyethylene and polypropylene completed trial runs successfully on their first attempt.

SABIC's revenue for the quarter reached $7.52 billion, representing a 14 percent increase quarter-on-quarter, while adjusted EBITDA rose 40 percent to $1.26 billion. The company reaffirmed its global transformation target of delivering $3 billion in recurring annual EBITDA improvements by 2030, noting it has achieved $950 million year-to-date.
