Gulf states have allocated over $250 billion toward artificial intelligence, data centers, and advanced digital ecosystems, according to an intelligence report published by the Bloomsbury Intelligence and Security Institute (BISI) on October 26, 2026.
The region's computing and data-center capacity is projected to grow from 1 gigawatt in 2025 to 3.3 gigawatts by 2030. Key regional entities driving this expansion include the UAE-based G42 and Saudi Arabia's HUMAIN, both of which are broadening international technology partnerships and domestic supercomputing assets.
The BISI analysis noted that Gulf authorities face the task of balancing access to high-end semiconductors with Western compliance requirements, while continuing to manage critical technology and supply links with China. Additionally, the sustainable rollout of these digital facilities presents operational challenges for regional power grids and involves reliance on energy-intensive desalination.
