Ras Al Khaimah serves as a strategic commercial gateway for Chinese companies expanding into the Middle East and the Global South, according to Raheel Ahmed, Group CEO of RAKBANK. His statements followed an official delegation visit to China led by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi from October 17 to 23, 2026.

More than 400 Chinese businesses currently operate in Ras Al Khaimah. Ahmed noted that this presence is supported by robust economic ties, with total UAE-China non-oil trade reaching $111.5 billion in 2025.

To serve this growing corporate segment, RAKBANK operates a specialized Chinese department staffed by 17 Chinese-speaking managers. The team currently handles approximately 2,500 Chinese clients, including more than 2,400 corporate enterprises.

According to Ahmed, RAKBANK provides expedited corporate bank account opening completed within hours. The institution also offers direct cross-border payment integration with Chinese digital payment platforms Alipay and WeChat.
