Mubadala Investment Company plans to expand its investments across China by 15% to 20% annually over the coming years, according to an announcement made in Beijing by CEO Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund manages $385 billion in assets globally and has deployed more than $20 billion in China since 2015, the 21st Century Business Herald reported.
Al Mubarak stated that the fund's approach has shifted toward concentrated, high-conviction transactions in key sectors including life sciences, energy transition, infrastructure, and technology.
Emphasizing a long-term investment horizon, Al Mubarak highlighted recent consumer and technology deals, including a transaction involving Luckin Coffee valued at approximately $1 billion. In addition, Mubadala is doubling its on-the-ground operational resources in China to enhance deal execution and asset management.
