UAE Deploys AI Control Tower to Supervise Federal Government AI Agents

The UAE has established an artificial intelligence control tower to monitor and log the actions of AI agents deployed across federal government services. Speaking at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of Global Future Leaders in Dubai, Minister of State Omar Al Olama stated the system will undergo continuous human and AI auditing. The initiative supports the UAE Cabinet's mandate to shift 50 per cent of federal services and operations to agentic AI within two years.

The UAE federal government has built an artificial intelligence "control tower" designed to monitor AI agents as the country integrates autonomous technology into public services, according to Gulf News.

Omar Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, announced the mechanism during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of Global Future Leaders in Dubai. Under the policy, every AI agent deployed across federal entities must connect to the central control tower, where all actions and decision-making processes will be recorded for supervisory oversight.

Al Olama stated that the platform will undergo continuous auditing conducted jointly by human personnel and automated AI systems. The supervision aims to verify that autonomous government agents do not exceed their authorized mandates.

The deployment aligns with a federal framework approved by the UAE Cabinet setting a target to transition at least 50 per cent of government sectors, operations, and services to agentic AI within two years. The framework incorporates dedicated internal agency teams, performance indicators, and impact measurement criteria.
