The fifth leg of the 2026 Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) got underway at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre in Shanghai, China, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). The event gathered 81 purebred Arabian horses representing approximately 35 owners.
The event forms part of the international EAHGC series organised by the United Arab Emirates to support the purebred Arabian horse industry and highlight Emirati cultural heritage. The third edition of the cup is held under the oversight of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee.
WAM reported that the Shanghai leg coincides with the 2026 Shanghai International Horse Culture Carnival, which merges competitive equestrian events with public exhibitions. In addition to the EAHGC, the carnival includes four international equestrian events spanning show jumping, dressage, young riders' competitions, and polo, alongside the Shanghai International Horse Exhibition.
The two-day Shanghai tournament comprises competitive classes for colts, fillies, mares, and stallions across various age groups, culminating in championship finals across all categories.
