On October 16, luxury and business publication Jing Daily marked the publication of its inaugural Jing Daily 100 list with an event at The St. Regis on the Bund in Shanghai. Held during Shanghai Fashion Week, the gathering brought together industry executives, designers, artists, media figures, and content creators. Jing Daily Editor-in-Chief Enrique Menéndez opened the evening by welcoming guests and reflecting on the publication's coverage of China's luxury sector and cultural landscape.
Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of Dubai Design District (d3), spoke on creative-industry connections between China and the United Arab Emirates. According to Jing Daily, Al Bastaki outlined d3's work in nurturing creative talent and establishing international partnerships, pointing to growing ties between the two nations in fashion and design. Operating as part of Dubai's TECOM Group, d3 serves as a business hub for design and fashion companies and co-founded Dubai Fashion Week alongside the Arab Fashion Council in 2023.
The evening also included a panel moderated by Jing Daily Chief Operating Officer Stephen Morgan, featuring An Tang, General Manager of Tmall Luxury, and Rebecca Cai, Chief Global Markets Officer of On. The discussion focused on evolving Chinese consumer preferences and the sectors expected to drive future growth across China's premium and luxury markets.
Jing Daily stated that the Jing Daily 100 list was selected jointly by its editorial teams across China, Europe, and the United States to honor executives, brand founders, designers, and cultural figures shaping the luxury landscape in China.
