The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel guidance, advising against all travel to the whole of Yemen due to unpredictable security conditions. The department urged British nationals currently in Yemen to leave immediately, warning that consular support remains severely limited and British Embassy operations in Sana'a remain suspended.

According to the FCDO, regional conditions across the Middle East remain deeply unpredictable with a high risk of sudden escalation. The update cited strikes and retaliatory attacks impacting civilian and military infrastructure across the region, as well as strikes launched by the Houthis against Saudi territory and Red Sea shipping vessels since July 2026.

The guidance cautioned travellers that ongoing risks of military escalation in Yemen and the Red Sea could occur at short notice. British nationals traveling through or present in the Middle East were advised to prepare for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and disruptions to international travel routes.
