The UAE General Budget Committee convened its 15th meeting at Qasr Al Watan to deliberate on the draft federal budget for the 2027–2029 fiscal years under the medium-term strategic plan, Sharjah24 reported via WAM. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Other senior attendees included Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; and Khaled Mohamed Balama Al Tameemi, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), alongside officials representing the Presidential Court and the Ministry of Finance.
Discussions centred on the draft federal budget for fiscal year 2027 as part of the wider 2027–2029 budget plan, examining preliminary expenditure estimates and medium-term revenue forecasts. The Ministry of Finance coordinated these estimates with federal authorities in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. (26) of 2019 on Public Finance, as amended, and in line with updates to tax legislation.
The committee directed that necessary administrative procedures be finalized to prepare the federal budget for the 2027–2029 planning cycle. Members also reviewed the federal government's financial position for fiscal year 2026 based on actual revenue and expenditure to date, noting continued growth across key economic sectors.
Additionally, the committee reviewed funding requests submitted by federal entities for new strategic projects, issued directives regarding their financing, and assessed progress on approved capital and development projects completed so far in 2026.
