The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the United Arab Emirates and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) officially entered into force on 6 October 2026, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The preferential trade framework includes the UAE along with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Russian Federation. Under the agreement, customs tariffs are eliminated or reduced across more than 86 percent of tariff lines, representing roughly 96 percent of the value of goods currently traded among the signatories.
Bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and the EAEU reached $33.6 billion in 2025 and expanded by 6.2 percent year-on-year to $14.3 billion during the first half of 2026.
Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi stated that the agreement simplifies customs procedures and is projected to raise annual bilateral trade to nearly $50 billion by 2032.
