The UAE General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has clarified statutory rules that allow insured citizens to purchase up to 10 additional years of service.

According to the authority, eligibility criteria and applicable contribution rates vary depending on whether the individual falls under Federal Law No. 7 of 1999 or Federal Decree-Law No. 57 of 2023. Employees must complete mandatory minimum service durations prior to applying to add nominal service periods to their records.

The scheme is designed to help employees meet retirement pension thresholds, offering payment options that include a single lump-sum payment or structured monthly instalments.
