Trump Confirms Iran War and Hormuz Discussions During Xi Visit

US President Donald Trump stated he discussed the Iran war with visiting Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping following allegations of Beijing supporting Tehran. Trump also expressed optimism when asked about progress toward reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The exchange occurred during a tour of the National Archives in Washington.

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he discussed the Iran war with visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Roya News. The comments followed allegations that Beijing has been supporting Tehran.

When asked whether the two leaders had discussed Iran, Trump replied, "We did, we did," as he showed Xi around the National Archives in Washington. The event took place on the final day of the Chinese leader's state visit to the United States.

Asked whether he anticipated progress toward reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Trump replied, "I think we're going to do great."
