His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, visited Fuzhou University during an academic and cultural tour of China, where he addressed students on the importance of pursuing knowledge, personal character, and international understanding, according to official reports.

Addressing students at the university, Sheikh Saud highlighted expanding ties between the UAE and China, stating that ideas, talent, and knowledge now move between both countries almost instantly. He urged students to pursue lifelong learning, lead with integrity, and use their capabilities to build bridges of understanding across borders.

As part of his cultural itinerary in Fuzhou, Sheikh Saud toured the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys cultural district, noted for preserving traditional architecture, as well as the Zheng He Historical Relics Exhibition Hall. The visits reflected historical maritime trade connections between China and Ras Al Khaimah, where 13th-century Yuan Dynasty porcelain artifacts have previously been documented.

During his visit to Guangzhou, Sheikh Saud also met with three Emirati students pursuing higher education in China, accompanied by Mariam Alshamsi, UAE Consul General in Guangzhou. The students included Zayid Alkalbani of Jinan University, along with Maha Alketbi and Shaikha Alhebsi of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).
