UAE Consul General in Guangzhou Mariam Alshamsi attended China's National Annual Event for 2026 World Environment Day on June 5. The event was co-organized by China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Central Civilization Office, and the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Discussions emphasized advancing green development and ecological partnerships aligned with UAE sustainability priorities.
The UAE Embassy in Beijing, the UAE Consulate General in Guangzhou, and Sun Yat-sen University co-hosted the UAE-GBA Water and Sustainability Dialogue in Guangzhou. The gathering brought together over 170 representatives from government, business, academia, and finance to prepare for the 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi. Discussions centered on linking UAE water security initiatives with Greater Bay Area technological capabilities and green investment.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has arrived in Shenzhen to commence a working visit to China running until October 23. The visit spans Guangdong and Fujian provinces and includes participation in the Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit in Shenzhen. The agenda also features the official opening of a Ras Al Khaimah representative office in Guangzhou and meetings with Chinese corporate executives and government officials.
