China and Oman Pledge Closer Cooperation on GCC Energy, Trade, and Maritime Security
Chinese President Xi Jinping met Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in Beijing on November 2, 2026, marking the first Omani state visit to China in 48 years. China emphasized strengthening strategic synergy with Gulf Cooperation Council partners in energy and investment. Both leaders also called for safeguarding maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
