Scopely South East Asia, an operating arm of Saudi PIF-owned Savvy Games Group, has completed an equity investment in Shanghai Baokela Network Technology Co. Baokela, founded by game producer Chen Min, previously secured a 20% founding stake from Tencent. The deal marks Scopely's third strategic investment in China's digital entertainment sector.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has commenced its first health and life sciences mission to China, covering Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing from September 21 to 30, 2026. The delegation aims to build partnerships in artificial intelligence, medical robotics, oncology, and new drug development. Representatives from UAE healthcare and research bodies are meeting Chinese authorities, universities, and biotech firms.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Sharjah-China Businesswomen Forum on September 22, 2026, welcoming 15 Chinese women entrepreneurs. Organized alongside the General Women's Union and the UAE Embassy in Beijing, the forum focused on mutual market expansion and B2B networking. SCCI noted that China represents roughly 11% of the UAE's total non-oil trade.
The Saudi Central Bank has concluded its formal participation in Project mBridge following the completion of its proof-of-concept phase. The multilateral central bank digital currency project remains co-anchored by the People's Bank of China, the Central Bank of the UAE, and the BIS Innovation Hub.
