Chinese coffee operator Luckin Coffee Inc. is actively exploring market entry into the Gulf region for its next international phase, according to statements by senior management reported by financial media. The potential rollout follows Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company joining controlling shareholder Centurium Capital in an aggregate $1 billion transaction in September.
Luckin Coffee Chairman David Li, who also serves as co-founder and chief executive of Centurium Capital, confirmed that leadership is examining opportunities in regions including Gulf countries. Luckin CEO Jinyi Guo indicated that Gulf markets offer commercial appeal due to stable, high-frequency coffee demand alongside consumer interest in health-focused and lower-sugar beverages.
Beyond the Middle East review, the company expanded its presence in Southeast Asia, reaching 100 outlets in Singapore. Luckin stated that its Singapore operations have engaged over 1.9 million purchasing customers since entering that market in 2023, serving as an operational benchmark for its technology-led retail model outside mainland China.
The overseas development coincides with public equity movements for Luckin's over-the-counter shares (LKNCY), which posted an overnight increase exceeding 3% ahead of trading, while remaining down approximately 6% for the month of September after prior monthly gains.
