GT LINES, the container shipping division of UAE-based Gulftainer Group, has entered into new strategic partnerships with Chinese shipping lines to enhance supply chain continuity and connectivity between Asia and the Middle East, according to the American Journal of Transportation.
The cooperation is implemented across two distinct services scheduled to commence in early November 2026. Under the upgraded KCX 1 (Khorfakkan China Express) Service, GT LINES will deploy two vessels under a Vessel Sharing Agreement alongside three Chinese carriers—Zhong Gu, Sea Legend, and Ningbo Ocean—creating an expanded five-vessel consortium.
The KCX 1 rotation connects Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Khorfakkan Port in the UAE. The service offers transit times of 22 days from Central China to Khorfakkan and 18 days from South China to Khorfakkan.
In addition, GT LINES will cooperate with CULines on its CGX Service, designated as KCX 5, extending maritime operations between UAE and Chinese carriers. That service will rotate through Qingdao, Ningbo, Shekou, Nansha, Port Klang, and Khorfakkan.
