UAE GCAA Grants Strata Approved Maintenance Organization Certification Under CAR-145

Strata Manufacturing PJSC has received Approved Maintenance Organization certification from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority under CAR-145 regulations. The certification permits the Mubadala-owned manufacturer to extend operations into maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities. The expansion builds on Strata's production of more than 120,000 advanced-composite aerostructure components since 2010.

Abu Dhabi AI Council Reviews Tech Progress and 2027 AI-Native Government Target

Abu Dhabi's Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council met to evaluate progress across key initiatives, including the UAE-US AI Campus, AI research, and specialized talent development. Chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, the council also reviewed efforts toward establishing the world's first fully AI-native administration by 2027. Officials emphasized directing international partnerships and investments into establishing a lasting technological base.

Mistral Unveils Large 4 AI Model in Abu Dhabi, Citing Lead Over Chinese Rivals

French artificial intelligence startup Mistral has unveiled its new open-weight model, Mistral Large 4, during an event in Abu Dhabi. Chief Executive Officer Arthur Mensch claimed the model outperforms Chinese alternatives in specific domains, including cybersecurity. The open-weight model is scheduled for general public release on October 27.

UAE Trains 80,000 Government Workers as AI Super Users at Abu Dhabi Summit

The UAE has launched a programme to train approximately 80,000 government employees to become artificial intelligence super users capable of building AI agents. The announcement was made at the opening of the Ai Everything Abu Dhabi summit at ADNEC, which gathered over 400 exhibitors and 200 investors managing $100 billion in assets. Abu Dhabi officials reaffirmed their objective to establish the world's first AI-native government by 2027.
