State-owned China Railway Tunnel Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Advanced Pipes and Casts Co, a subsidiary of Qatar's Aamal Co. The strategic partnership focuses on constructing railway tunnels and developing supply chain operations in Qatar and the Gulf region.
China has introduced draft export control regulations that expand government oversight of cross-border technology transfers and intellectual property licensing arrangements. The rules impose mandatory registration requirements on technology IP transfers and changes in control of domestic technology to overseas entities. Legal and compliance experts noted the regulations will affect cross-border investments and joint ventures involving international partners, including Gulf firms.

Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi met Chinese Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang in Beijing to advance trilateral economic cooperation between ASEAN, China, and the GCC. Discussions focused on building toward a trilateral agreement and promoting greater use of the Chinese renminbi in China-GCC trade. Officials noted that expanded local currency trade could impact exchange rates among the renminbi, the Malaysian ringgit, and GCC currencies.
