Dubai and Abu Dhabi Equity Indices Post Modest Gains at Friday Close

UAE equity markets closed marginally higher on Friday, 9 October 2026, with both Dubai and Abu Dhabi benchmarks recording slim advances in a subdued session. Dubai's DFM General Index gained 0.36% to settle at 5,819.96, while Abu Dhabi's FTSE ADX General Index inched up 0.08% to finish at 9,808.52. The modest gains completed a positive weekly finish for the UAE's two main stock exchanges.

UAE equity markets finished marginally higher on Friday, 9 October 2026, as both Dubai and Abu Dhabi benchmarks posted modest gains in a subdued trading session, according to Business Upturn.

The DFM General Index inched up by 0.36% to settle at 5,819.96. During the session, the benchmark fluctuated between 5,799.01 and 5,853.81, with intraday highs indicating early buying interest before the index retreated to finish in the lower half of the day's range.

In Abu Dhabi, the FTSE ADX General Index rose 0.08% to conclude trading at 9,808.52. The index moved across an intraday band of 9,801.07 to 9,895.16, closing near its daily low as upward momentum slowed into the afternoon.

Business Upturn reported that trading across both exchanges reflected a cautious tone ahead of the weekend, with neither index recording significant price swings. The slight gains nonetheless extended a positive weekly close for the UAE's two leading bourses.
