The United Arab Emirates is accelerating pipeline construction to double its crude oil export capacity bypassing the Strait of Hormuz by 2027. The initiative builds on an existing pipeline to secure alternative export channels outside the regional maritime chokepoint.
An analysis published by EnergyNow argues that the UAE's exit from OPEC significantly reduces the producer group's sway over global oil markets. UAE Energy Minister Suhail Mohamed al-Mazrouei stated the move was intended to satisfy growing global energy demand. Analysts warn that once current export bottlenecks subside, competition for market share could trigger a price war.
