China Eleventh Chemical Wins Contracts for 890MW Duqm Power Project in Oman

China Eleventh Chemical Construction Company has secured two civil works and site facility packages for the 890MW Duqm power project in Oman. The $910 million combined-cycle gas turbine development is being built by a consortium that includes UAE-based Etihad Water and Electricity. Commercial operations at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm are scheduled to begin in 2029.

China Eleventh Chemical Construction Company has been awarded two packages covering civil works and temporary site facilities for the 890MW Duqm power project in Oman, according to Utilities Middle East.

The award notification for the $910 million combined-cycle gas turbine development was issued by the Oman branch of Power Construction Corporation of China. Under the agreement, the contractor's scope covers civil Package H, ground works, material warehousing, and site monitoring systems.

The independent power station is being developed by Coastal Power SAOC. The development consortium comprises UAE-based Etihad Water and Electricity alongside Qatar's Nebras Energy, Korea Western Power, and Oman's Bahwan Infrastructure Services.

The project is located in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, with commercial operations planned to commence in 2029.
