Dubai’s Economy Shrinks 2.3% in First Half of 2026 Amid Regional Conflict
Dubai's real gross domestic product contracted 2.3% year on year in the first half of 2026 to approximately AED 473 billion, official statistics show. The decline was led by drops in wholesale and retail trade as well as transport and storage, while financial services and healthcare posted gains. Oxford Economics projected that a complete recovery in tourism and logistics will depend on shipping and aviation normalising next year.
