The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has launched the mandatory Abu Dhabi Real Estate Broker Transformation Course required for commercial licensing, according to Arabian Business.

The curriculum was developed in collaboration with Mawaheb, ThinkProp, and the Abu Dhabi School of Management. It replaces the prior broker training programme to strengthen regulatory compliance and ethical standards across the sector.

Brokers who finish the course receive the ADREC Certified Broker credential. This certification must be renewed annually to ensure practitioners remain up to date with new property laws.

The updated licensing rule comes amid growth in the emirate's property market. Abu Dhabi registered AED 117 billion ($31.9 billion) in real estate transactions during the first half of 2026, representing a 112 percent year-on-year increase, with 3,302 licensed brokers active during the period.
