UAE-Eurasian Economic Union Trade Deal Enters into Force Targeting $50B Trade

The Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union entered into force on 6 October 2026. The pact grants preferential tariff access across over 86 percent of tariff lines and targets nearly $50 billion in annual trade by 2032.

The Economic Partnership Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) officially entered into force on 6 October 2026, establishing a preferential trade framework between the UAE and Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

Under the terms of the agreement, the participating parties will grant preferential market access covering more than 86 percent of tariff lines. This scope encompasses approximately 96 percent of the total value of currently traded goods between the UAE and the bloc.

According to the report, the trade pact is projected to accelerate bilateral trade flows with the goal of reaching nearly $50 billion in annual trade by 2032. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, stated that the agreement provides clear, transparent rules, simplifies customs procedures, and establishes a platform for exporters and manufacturers.

The framework also incorporates dedicated provisions covering customs cooperation, e-commerce, and the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in cross-border trade.
