UAE Confirms Golden Visa Holders Can Sponsor Spouses, Children, and Parents

The United Arab Emirates government has outlined the family sponsorship privileges granted to Golden Visa holders, confirming that residence permit eligibility extends to three categories of relatives, according to a report by Legit.ng citing the UAE's official government website.

Under the guidelines, Golden Residency holders can obtain residence permits for their spouses, children of any age, and parents. The official statement noted that the provision enables holders to secure permits for spouses, children regardless of their age, and parents to ensure the stability of the entire family.

Legit.ng reported that the inclusion of children regardless of age distinguishes the Golden Visa from conventional UAE residency schemes, which typically enforce specific age thresholds for child sponsorship. Under the Golden Visa system, adult children remain eligible for residency as long as the primary sponsor maintains active Golden Residency status.

The scheme also explicitly includes parents, contrasting with many international immigration programmes that restrict sponsorship strictly to immediate household dependants such as spouses and minor children.
