China's outbound direct investment into the United Arab Emirates reached $2.6 billion, more than tripling compared to the previous reporting year, according to figures released by the UAE-China Chamber of Commerce. The surge positions the UAE as the leading Middle Eastern recipient of Chinese direct investment capital, while overall bilateral non-oil trade has crossed the $100 billion threshold.
Expanding on bilateral financial ties, Beijing-headquartered China Securities obtained regulatory approvals to launch a regional office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Chinese banking institutions now account for more than 30 percent of total assets in DIFC's banking and capital markets sector.
In the energy sector, ADIPEC 2026 in Abu Dhabi will host 353 Asian companies and six country pavilions, including China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea, event organizers reported. Asian exhibitors will join more than 2,250 exhibitors across 16 halls and 30 international pavilions.
Confirmed Chinese participants across exhibition and speaking programmes include Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC, CATL, Envision Energy, Baofeng Steel Group Co. Ltd, Beijing JJC Technology Co. Ltd., Hengyun, and ZhenHua Oil, whose chairman Wang Yuetao is listed among the event's speakers.
