China Direct Investment in UAE Reaches $2.6 Billion as Global Outflows Top $200B

China's annual outbound direct investment reached $213.58 billion, surpassing $200 billion for the first time with an 11.1 percent year-on-year increase. Outbound flows to the Middle East more than doubled, with the United Arab Emirates leading the region by attracting $2.6 billion. The UAE figure represents more than triple the volume of Chinese direct investment received in the preceding year.

China's annual outbound direct investment reached $213.58 billion, up 11.1 percent year-on-year and exceeding $200 billion for the first time, according to the 2025 Statistical Bulletin of China's Outward Foreign Direct Investment.

The official report was jointly released on September 29 by China's Ministry of Commerce, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

Chinese outbound direct investment into the Middle East more than doubled across the annual reporting cycle, reflecting intensified capital flows into the region.

The United Arab Emirates ranked as the leading Middle Eastern destination for inbound capital from China, securing $2.6 billion in direct investment. This total represents more than three times the volume of Chinese direct investment received by the UAE compared to the previous reporting year.
