Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police General Headquarters have announced new traffic regulations for commercial heavy vehicles, scheduled to come into force on 1 October 2026.

The controls restrict truck movements across multiple freight corridors during peak hours to curb traffic congestion and enhance road safety. Sheikh Zayed Road will face a 16-hour daily movement ban between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, while other key roads will be subject to designated peak-hour limits.

Emirates Road has been specifically exempted from the restrictions to safeguard commercial freight and supply chain flow. Authorities noted that awareness campaigns are currently being conducted for logistics firms and fleet operators prior to strict enforcement.
