Final preparations are underway in Beijing's Huairou District for the Great Wall Marathon and Zayed Charity Run on 27 September, Gulf Today reported. The athletic and charitable event returns to Huairou for the second consecutive year, bringing together approximately 15,000 participants from China and internationally.

A delegation from the UAE will participate in the event, including 100 runners alongside members of the Zayed Charity Run Organising Committee, media representatives, and officials. The programme features a 42-kilometre full marathon and a 21-kilometre half marathon.

Ahead of the race, representatives of the Zayed Charity Run scheduled a visit to Huairou Hospital on 26 September to meet with hospital leadership. Fifty percent of the proceeds generated from the event will be donated to support the hospital and assist the local community.

The official programme on 27 September will open with a traditional Emirati Ayala performance, followed by the national anthems of the UAE and China before the official race start, according to the report.
