According to an industry roundup published by IndexBox, Abu Dhabi has raised its 2030 solar target to 14GW. At the same time, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) stated that doubling annual renewable capacity additions globally to 1.2TW is feasible, supported by the strength of the solar sector.
In international trade, Canada has ended anti-dumping duties on Chinese solar modules. By contrast, imported module prices in the United States surged by more than 40% following the introduction of Section 232 tariffs.
Other notable developments include a US judicial ruling determining that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) unlawfully terminated the Solar for All initiative. In India, Premier Energies has commissioned a 7GW TOPCon cell manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.
