Ohana Development has officially commenced construction on Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, an AED 15 billion ($4.08 billion) gated waterfront community located on Yas Canal in Abu Dhabi, GDNOnline reported. The developer also inaugurated an on-site Experience Centre to present the master plan, residence layouts, and waterfront finishes to prospective buyers and investors.

The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Ohana Development CEO Husein Salem, COO Mustafa El Sammak, and General Manager Ahmed Salem, alongside City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano and Sultan Al Memari, Acting Executive Director of the Real Estate Regulation Sector at the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC).

Spanning 1.67 million square metres adjacent to Yas Island, the master-planned development will feature over 2,000 residences comprising standalone villas, twin villas, townhouses, maisonettes, waterfront penthouses, and apartments. According to project details, more than 55 percent of the footprint is designated for landscaped gardens and open green spaces, with phased handovers scheduled through 2029.

The sports-branded destination will incorporate a Manchester City training academy featuring dedicated football pitches and tactical fitness training areas. Additional planned facilities include a marina sports club for water activities such as kayaking and sailing, as well as wellness centers, spas, and swimming pools.
