TotalEnergies Signs LNG Deals Linking UAE Supply to Chinese Demand

TotalEnergies signed a five-year agreement to receive up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG from UAE-based ADNOC Gas starting in 2026. Concurrently, TotalEnergies signed a heads of agreement to supply 900,000 tonnes of LNG annually to China's Jiangsu Guoxin Group for 15 years starting in 2028.

French energy group TotalEnergies announced two parallel liquefied natural gas agreements linking Middle Eastern supply to Chinese downstream demand on November 6, 2026.

Under a five-year contract, UAE-based ADNOC Gas will supply TotalEnergies with up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, with the first deliveries scheduled to commence in 2026. TotalEnergies noted that this agreement builds on its long-standing partnership with the UAE firm and leverages the UAE's geographic location between Europe and Asia.

In conjunction with the ADNOC Gas deal, TotalEnergies signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with China's Jiangsu Guoxin Group. Under this 15-year arrangement, which remains subject to the finalization of sale and purchase agreements, TotalEnergies will supply 900,000 tonnes of LNG per year beginning in 2028.

The LNG volumes destined for China will be delivered to Jiangsu Guoxin Group's new LNG terminal in Rudong. The fuel will support city gas supply and power generation to help meet peak demand across Jiangsu Province.
