The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced the rollout of an enhanced attestation and approval service for employee sick leave and patient companion leave, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Under the new system, licensed healthcare facilities will submit leave requests directly to the ministry on behalf of patients and their companions, eliminating the requirement for workers to handle administrative paperwork.

The regulatory update applies to employees working across the UAE Federal Government as well as local government departments in Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.

MoHAP stated that eligible requests satisfying predefined medical criteria will now be processed automatically to final approval without requiring a separate application, as part of the UAE Government Zero Bureaucracy Programme.
