The Emirates Group reported a profit before tax of AED 4.1 billion ($1.1 billion) for the first six months of the 2026-27 financial year, according to Emirates 24|7. Following the application of corporate income tax, the group's profit after tax reached AED 3.6 billion ($1.0 billion), marking a 66% decrease compared to the record earnings posted in the corresponding period of the prior year.
Revenue across the group fell 12% year-on-year to AED 66.2 billion ($18.0 billion), down from AED 75.4 billion ($20.6 billion) recorded in the previous fiscal year. Operating profitability also contracted, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) dropping 41% to AED 12.5 billion ($3.4 billion) from AED 21.1 billion ($5.7 billion) a year earlier.
According to the report, the financial downturn was driven by ongoing regional conflict in the Gulf, which created airspace disruptions, led to flight travel advisories, and triggered sharp increases in aviation fuel expenses across Emirates and dnata operations.
As of September 30, 2026, the Emirates Group maintained a cash position of AED 54.1 billion ($14.7 billion), compared with AED 59.6 billion ($16.2 billion) as of March 31, 2026. The group deployed its internal reserves during the period to cover business operations, aircraft pre-delivery payments, existing debt commitments, and a final dividend payment of AED 2 billion ($545 million) to its shareholder.
