The United Arab Emirates' General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has updated its regulatory strategy for 2027–2029, outlining the vision, mission, and values guiding its next phase of development, Focus Gaming News reported. The federal regulator stated via a LinkedIn post that the launch establishes a clear operational direction for its staff over the next three years.

Under the refreshed strategy, the GCGRA aims to become one of the world's most respected gaming regulators, characterised by integrity, excellence, and the promotion of a safe, responsible, and thriving commercial gaming industry. Its mission highlights public protection, market integrity, and facilitating responsible growth among licensed operators.

The authority identified five core values to guide its decision-making, internal operations, and regulatory execution: integrity, respect, accountability, resilience, and proactiveness. As the federal regulator for commercial gaming, the GCGRA holds exclusive jurisdiction over licensing, supervising, and regulating commercial gaming operations and facilities across the UAE.

Focus Gaming News noted that the strategic update builds upon ongoing institutional cooperation. In August 2026, the GCGRA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market to facilitate investigative support, policy dialogue, supervisory coordination, and regulatory information sharing. The country's licensing landscape was also highlighted during a panel at the Global Gaming Expo 2026 in Las Vegas in late September.
