Dubai Municipality has awarded four new infrastructure contracts worth AED 3 billion ($817 million) under Phase 3 of its 'Tasreef' programme, the Dubai Media Office reported. The new packages bring total contract awards under the stormwater initiative to AED 7 billion ($1.91 billion).
The Phase 3 contracts were awarded to China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (CSCEC ME), Detech Contracting, Nael Construction & Contracting (NCC), and ARIFCO Group. The work entails constructing and extending approximately 100 kilometres of main stormwater drainage lines with diameters of up to three metres.
The project packages cover multiple areas across Dubai, including Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Safa, Al Manara, Al Quoz, Al Barsha, Al Wasl, Za’abeel, Al Bada’a, Al Satwa, and Al Marmoom, linking these districts to Dubai Municipality's primary drainage network.
CSCEC ME previously secured contracts in earlier stages of the initiative, including Phase 1 in April 2025 (AED 1.5 billion total phase value) and Phase 2 in February 2026 (AED 2.5 billion total phase value). The overarching Tasreef programme is valued at AED 30 billion ($8.2 billion) and is scheduled for completion in 2033. It is designed to expand Dubai's stormwater drainage capacity by 700 percent.
