RAKBANK Group CEO Raheel Ahmed stated that Ras Al Khaimah serves as a strategic launchpad for Chinese enterprises from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area expanding into the Global South, according to Newsgd.com. Ahmed made the remarks during a business delegation visit that took place from October 17 to October 23, 2026.

The bank currently serves around 2,500 Chinese corporate and individual clients, providing dedicated Chinese-speaking managers, trade finance, and cross-border settlement solutions.

To streamline market entry, RAKBANK has established direct integration with Ras Al Khaimah's licensing authorities and free zones. This arrangement allows the financial institution to process and facilitate commercial account approvals within 24 hours.

According to the report, the financial institution's expansion follows significant growth in bilateral commerce, with nationwide UAE-China non-oil trade reaching $111.5 billion in 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of nearly 25 percent.
