The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Sharjah Publishing City (SPC) Free Zone to streamline trademark registration and intellectual property protection for businesses.
The agreement was signed on October 19, 2026, on the sidelines of the Sharjah Investment Forum by Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SPC Free Zone, and Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for Intellectual Property at the ministry.
Under the terms of the agreement, SPC Free Zone will implement direct operational mechanisms enabling its licensed companies to register and protect their commercial trademarks through official ministry channels.
The partnership also encompasses specialized technical guidance, training programs for free-zone personnel, and joint awareness workshops aimed at supporting international investors in securing their commercial assets.
