Abu Dhabi-listed developer Aldar Properties has agreed to acquire nine residential buildings in Sharjah's Aljada master community from Arada under an AED 1.1 billion forward purchase agreement, the companies announced on 15 October 2026.
The transaction represents Aldar's first real estate investment in the emirate of Sharjah. Under the agreement, Aldar will take ownership of three residential blocks comprising more than 1,100 units across nine buildings, with delivery scheduled by Arada for the fourth quarter of 2029.
Aldar stated that the acquisition expands its develop-to-hold portfolio pipeline to AED 21 billion as it adds scale to its residential-for-rent assets and broadens geographical reach into Sharjah. The purchase follows an AED 15 billion cross-emirate development partnership recently concluded between Aldar and Arada.
Aljada is a 2.2 million-square-metre master development in Sharjah with an anticipated gross sales value of AED 35 billion upon completion. Handover of properties in the community commenced in 2021, with over 8,800 units delivered to date.
