A consortium comprising Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), Elsewedy Electric, and Sinohydro has signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the Rabigh 2 combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) expansion project in Saudi Arabia. The signing ceremony took place in Riyadh between project stakeholders and consortium representatives.

Under the agreement, the consortium will execute engineering and design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, grid connection, and performance testing for the facility located in Rabigh on Saudi Arabia's western coast. The total value of the EPC contract was not disclosed in the announcement.

According to the EPC signing announcement, the expansion project has a planned generation capacity of approximately 2,400 MW, though developer ACWA Power previously cited a capacity of 2,313.5 MW in its financial close announcement. The gas-fired facility is designed to support growing electricity demand under Saudi Vision 2030 and provide operational flexibility across simple-cycle and combined-cycle modes.
