Saudi Arabian Airlines confirmed that Captain Hamoud Ali Alkalthami was killed during attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 8.

The national flag carrier reported that one of its aircraft sustained damage on the tarmac during the incident, noting that no passengers were aboard the aircraft at the time.

According to the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the incident was part of two strikes that resulted in the deaths of three citizens and injured several others.

Following the strikes, Saudia activated its emergency management procedures and announced that scheduled flight operations normalized starting from 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
