Saudi Tourism Authority Steps Up Campaign to Attract Chinese Visitors

The Saudi Tourism Authority has intensified efforts to attract tourists from mainland China and Hong Kong to the Kingdom, according to Arab News.

Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to China Abdulrahman Al-Harbi stated that bilateral ties have achieved notable progress across tourism, cultural, and commercial domains under the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership. China's Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin welcomed the positive momentum and affirmed Beijing's commitment to deepening cooperation.

The push forms part of Saudi Arabia's wider strategy to invest over $800 billion into its domestic tourism industry to diversify the economy away from hydrocarbons. Chinese and Gulf officials additionally emphasized plans to expand direct travel links and trade missions.
