The Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has formally transitioned its interim operational hub in the UAE into a permanent regional office located in Abu Dhabi.
Capitalized at $100 billion, the multilateral development institution established the permanent hub to anchor infrastructure and trade financing initiatives across Asia, the Gulf, and Africa.
According to the bank, the permanent base is structured to deepen partnerships between Chinese sovereign entities and GCC governmental and private-sector investors, supporting cross-border financial transactions and channeling Chinese capital into Gulf markets.
